Mara Springs represents a value for money overnight option in a good location for visitors to the Masai Mara who are primarily interested in the wildlife and do not require luxurious accommodation. The Superior tents have basic but comfortable furnishings and an en suite bathroom with a flush toilet & shower with hot and cold water. Meals are prepared by the camp cooks and served in the dining tent, no sterling silver cutlery or crystal glasses here but the food is wholesome and plentiful. Evening camp fires and traditional entertainment can be organised against local payment and a private dining venue can be arranged on request.
There is a gift shop / bar which sells post cards, maps, toiletries, souvenirs and an assortment of soft drinks, beers and wine
The Camp is located on the forested banks of the Sekenani River at the foot of the Naunare Hills and is only 3 km from the Sekenani Gate into the Mara Reserve. Although the various gates control access into the Reserve there are no fences so wildlife is free to roam and visitors have the chance to enjoy informative nature walks to the surrounding scenic hills or exciting night time drives outside the reserve in search of nocturnal wildlife (local payment for guides and escorts) Also available at extra cost are spectacular sundowner from the horizons of the reserve, bike treks, educational folklore and Maasai dances.
