Ol Donyo Lodge is situated on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills, with exclusive access to a quarter of a million acres of one of the few remaining wilderness areas of East Africa. The open plains, rolling Chyulu Hills and snow capped peak of Kilimanjaro invoke images of Africa as it was in the earlier part of the last century; wildlife and Maasai herdsman living as nature determined they should in this unspoilt corner of Kenya. Ol Donyo Wuas is looked after by Richard and Tara Bonham with a team of dedicated and friendly staff.
Accommodation
Ol Donyo Lodge has a total of 20 beds in seven stand alone cottages. Some are two bedded, while others are four bedded with their own private sitting room and 5 have their own swimming pool. These four bedded lodges are perfect for families or small groups of friends who prefer that extra privacy.
All bedrooms now have spacious ensuite bathrooms with superb views, a shower and bath, twin vanities, a flush loo with an additional outdoor shower for those who prefer.
All rooms have their own rooftop sundowner / "star-beds" spot where guests enjoy dramatic views over the plains and onto Kili. More adventurous guests have the option to sleep out safely on these rooftops to enjoy a night sleeping under the stars.
The lighting is solar powered as is the hot water of the showers, with an emergency back-up system for overcast days.

For those wishing to explore this stunning area further, we suggest two to three days camping out, with a support crew and mobile-tented camp. Whether on horseback or on foot, and in the company of one of our knowledgeable safari guides, this gives you the chance to experience the wilder side of Africa - the Africa first explored by our ancestors.
