LOCATION
he Village is situated on the island of Manda, which is the sister island to Lamu. The lodge is located on the beach front with amazing views of the ocean, Lamu island and Shela village.
OVERVIEW
Diamond Beach Village offers an alternative to the traditional hotel style, more of a rustic Robinson Crusoe experience. The perfect place to unwind away from the stresses and strains of modern day life.
There are no cars on Lamu or Manda, the only form of transport is by donkey or boat, both of which are an experience in themselves. The pace of life is inevitably slow and relaxed.
Diamond Beach Village provides a wonderful base from which to explore the local scenery and also take in the colourful Lamu culture and people. Or if you'd prefer, simply sit back, relax and luxuriate for days on end and let the friendly staff look after your every need, whether its breakfast in bed or drinks on the swing bed.

ACCOMMODATION
There are six beach huts called bandas, traditionally designed with high windows, the sea breeze flows through making them the ideal retreat from the African sunshine.

The four double bandas have a double bed downstairs and a single bed mounted in the roof, each has a front veranda, en suite shower, sink and flush toilet. All bandas are equipped with sheets, mosquito nets and towels. Each has a mains plug with a British socket and all have electric lighting in the evening. The very friendly room boy, Kombo, cleans daily and a laundry service is offered.
The twin banda is larger with swing hammock outside sleeping 2-4 people.
The sixth ‘family’ banda is larger and divided into two, with a swing bed outside and sleeps between 3-6 people.
The floors and walls are made out of star palm which is woven locally, the roofs are Makuthi thatch. There is no fresh water on Manda Island.Nothing goes to waste here as the water from the sinks and showers is used to water the gardens.
