OVERVIEW
Kervan Saray Beach is a n unpretentious dive resort welcoming both expert and novice divers. It is the first new resort to be opened in Pemba in the last 8 years & offers some superb diving & fishing.
ACCOMMODATION
- Accommodation consists of simply built rooms constructed of local materials with thatched roofs.
- Each room has a double & single bed with bed sheets & mosquito nets made from the finest Indian Cotton
- Each room has an attached bathroom with a shower. Water is solar heated so is luke warm on sunny days & cool
when the weather is overcast.
FACILITIES
- The resident Cook, Mzee Ali, has been with the camp for the last 6 years & is expert at sourcing & cooking a variety of meals. Vegetables are sourced from the bustling local markets & meat is sourced both locally & internationally.
Fish varies from season to season & is all line caught by the local fishermen.
- Dinner consists of a four course meal with vegetarian options always available.
- Electricity is provided at the resort by generator from 6pm to 6am & in the office during the day.
- Satellite & radio phones as well as satellite internet are available for use at a fee.
ACTIVITIES
- Diving at Kervan Saray Beach is provided by the most experienced landbased dive operation in Pemba Swahili Divers. Pemba has the most spectacularly healthy reefs in East Africa & has on e of the top prolific reef systems in the world making for superb diving.
- The Pemba Channel is famous for its sailfish, blue Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Barracuda, Trevally & Kingfish. Under the guidance of a local fisherman guests will be taken to the best place to ensure a good catch.
