Kipepeo Village is only a few kilometers south of Dar es Salaam but offers a truly remote and laid back atmosphere. The 20 comfortable beach huts are built on the edge of the indigenous bush, set back from the beach on elevated platforms to take advantage of the stunning sea views and cool ocean breezes. Each hut has a basic en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water for the shower but the main feature is a full width balcony complete with hammock, guaranteed to induce the “poa” feeling. ( Swahili slang for “ chill out”, “relax” , “be cool” ) The adjacent beach bar and restaurant are well stocked and Dekaza Dhows offer daily trips for snorkeling and sundowners at half the Zanzibar price!
