Sand Rivers Selous, Tanzania
Set on a wide curve of the Rufiji River, Sand Rivers Selous has been a well-loved hub for safari buffs since the late 1980s when camp founder Richard Bonham first discovered this place on one of his famous portered walking safaris. The lodge is small - only 8 rooms - but beautifully formed, grand yet cozy, with open fronted stone and thatch cottages looking way out over the river
Accommodation at Sand Rivers is in spacious open-fronted cottages raised on the banks of the Rufiji River. There are 5 Standard rooms, 2 Suites, and our new ‘honeymoon’ cottage - The Rhino House. All have en-suite bathrooms, with flush toilets, powerful showers and hot and cold running water
The main mess and dining area is set close to the river, and is a generous space. It's grand yet cosy, the atmosphere is familiar, and the service at-your-whim
