Travel through Zanzibar in Princess Salme’s footsteps…
We begin our tour at Mtoni Palace, the largest palace on the island, the home of the first Sultan and the birthplace of Sayyida Salme.
After an extensive tour around the Turkish baths, the main palace and its botanical gardens we then take a twenty minute dhow Cruise to Bububu House.
On the verandah of this beautiful Omani house, which belonged to Salme’s uncle, we enjoy a traditional coffee ceremony followed by a stroll around the lush gardens and the impressive ruins.
We then travel to Kidichi where we visit the Kidichi Persian baths which were built for the second wife of Salme’s father.
After a walk through the village we get onto a donkey cart, the mode of travel Princess Salme used and enjoy a short ride through the clove plantations.
Mzee Yussuf takes us on a Spice Tour followed by a traditional local lunch hosted on his plantation and prepared by his wife, Mariam.
We then head back to Mtoni enjoying the sounds and sights along the way.

Tipping: At your discretion please tip the tour guide at the end of the tour and he will distribute accordingly.
