A typical day at Ol Seki Mara Camp...
Set on a wonderful rocky promontory, overlooking the Ol Sabukioi River north of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Ol Seki Mara Camp enjoys panoramic views in an area teeming with game but not tourists. The Koiyaki conservation area is adjacent to the Mara, and provides an opportunity to enjoy wildlife viewing, in an area not frequented by the masses. This oasis of beautifully designed safari tents is nestled amongst Cordia and Acacia trees and the area attracts an abundance of wildlife and many species of birds.
Landrovers/Landcruisers equipped with roof hatches for game viewing and experienced driver/guides will take you out on your early morning game drives and introduce you to the wildlife in this area. Either enjoy a bush breakfast or drive back to Camp for a late hearty breakfast. Relax around the camp and enjoy the wildlife and birdlife that surround the area and perhaps a massage looking over the plains is exactly what you need.
There are also opportunities to take a walk with experienced Maasai guides and visit local villages. Or perhaps a visit to the newly established Koiyaki Guiding School which aims to teach skills of effective tourism and wildlife management while providing incentives to conserve the bio diversity of the area and to reduce encroachment of wildlife habitat.
Afternoon tea followed by an evening game drive, perhaps a sundowner out in the bush, returning to camp for a hot shower and drinks by the campfire listening to the noises of the African bush and finally a delicious meal and bed! Romantic candle lit dinners or special dining for honeymooners can be arranged.
The experienced camp crew at Ol Seki will make your stay truly memorable – a delight for all senses!
